Presentation Tools
Google has everything. I mean really. Google Drive is great for creating documents where collaboration is necessary and that are easily accessible anywhere. Multiple people can be working on the same file at the same time, changes are saved immediately, and the days of emailing different versions of the same document are over. Plus, it's free. When I got my new computer and I refused to shell out $200 for Microsoft Office, I got by just fine exclusively using Google Docs. (Though I did end up buying Office because the Google versions are somewhat limited in sophistication)
And then there's Glogster. Similar to Prezi, but more like a poster. Also zooms to what you are talking about, but less 3-dimensional, but certainly not linear (like PowerPoint: slide 1, slide 2, etc.) Check out my Glogster example that can be used as a template for cluing your students in on what you have planned for the day.
Prezi. My FAVORITE of all presentation tools. Allows you to create unique presentations that emphasize with zoom and are easy to embed multimedia right into the presentation. Below is my Prezi from my field experience, where I taught a 5th grade class how to use Prezi.
